How did Living Paper Start?
In 2000, Living Paper was focused on developing applications for Digital Pen Technologies, including Logitech, Anoto, Maxell, Leapfrog and others. Working closely with many large multinational corporations, Living Paper developed applications in Healthcare, Finance, Law Enforcement, Manufacturing and more. As our customers were extremely satisfied with our level of service and quality, they started to ask if we had more competences in software development and we slowly expanded our .NET, Flash, PHP, JAVA teams.

Today, the digital pen is a small part of our business as we are more focused on a broad spectrum of enterprise solutions.

Some background on the digital pen – which is responsible for launching Living Paper Inc.:

The digital pen writes on ordinary paper printed with a unique pattern that is almost invisible to the naked eye. When you look at a piece of paper enabling Anoto functionality, you're actually looking at a fraction of a map that is equivalent to that of Europe and Asia combined.

Since the map consists of tiny distinctive squares, small portions of this huge map can be given any specific function, such as "send", "store" or "synchronize". Other portions of the map can be given specific embedded applications, such as "notepad", "paper calendar" or "medical journal". Then it remains to keep track of which dots activate which function in which computer.

Why do people use pen and paper? Because it is easy, automatic, fast and portable. Why do people get frustrated with pen and paper? Because for many of us, at some point we need to share that information captured on paper with others and make notations and edits and paper does not offer an easy solution.
